For Courtney Harris Currin, ’04, being named the Granville County Public Schools (GCPS) Principal of the Year was a surprising and humbling honor. “I was in a state of shock for at least three weeks,” she said. “It truly means more than I can even put into words.”
Toni Irwin, ’19, curates fashion content for the top-ranked game Project Makeover. As a Game Fashion Designer, she works with a team of artists and designers to create concepts for each of the game’s characters as well as wardrobe and beauty options.
Former Meredith faculty member and alumna, Lara Stroud Dick, ’03, has earned a Fulbright Award to study in Cyprus, a Mediterranean island located just south of Turkey. The Fulbright Award will allow Dick to continue her research on how math teachers can use technology to help students learn more effectively.
In her role as Chief Learning Experience Navigator, Paige Layno Winn, ’96, helps teams and individuals around the world with training and development initiatives.
Winn works for an organization called FHI 360, a nonprofit working to improve lives around the world through integrated, locally driven solutions. “Our practice areas include public health, civil society, economic development, education, crisis response, and other disciplines that enhance lives,” said Winn.
Sisters Megan Coleman, ’18, and Cecilia Coleman, ’20, followed in the footsteps of their entrepreneur mother and turned their passion for shoes into a business. Raw Heat is collectively owned and run by the Coleman sisters and Cecilia’s partner, Josh Joyner. Together, they were able to create a thriving business during a pandemic with their support for each other, positive attitudes, and most importantly, dedication.
