Discover Greece

We agree with Henry Miller that “It takes a lifetime to discover Greece but it only takes an instant to fall in love with her.” And fall in love you will. Your first glimpse of the Acropolis, crowned by the Parthenon which was completed in 438 BC (!), will do it, we are confident.

The contrast (one of the delights of travel) between Athens and the Peloponnese, our next stop and the seat of much of the most famous mythological tales, is in a word, fascinating. There we will visit five of the 18 Greek Unesco World Heritage sites. Sisyphus, Apollo, Agamemnon, Hercules, and Asclepius, are among the mythological figures who walked on the same paths you will.

Arguably we have saved the best for last. We will travel to Santorini, one of the most interesting and popular of the Cyclades Islands, where we will visit the Bronze Age settlement of Akrotiri. Covered in ash from a volcanic eruption in the 16 century BC, it is one of the best preserved prehistoric sites.

Our last few days will be spent island hopping, one of the most delightful and educational opportunity Greece offers us.

Coastal Maine

July 10-15, 2024

Join us in Maine, where rocky shores, infinite nature, and endless lobster forge a coastal New England classic. This six-day tour will begin in Portland where you’ll get a peek of the rich history, and the famous Portland Head Light, by trolley. The following days will include taking in the natural beauty of the coast with a visit to the Coastal Maine Botanical Garden, Acadia National Park, a lobster boat outing, seal watching, and a local vineyard. You will have plenty of time to explore Bar Harbor, Boothbay Harbor, and Camden before arriving back in Portland on July 14 for a farewell lobster bake.
