As president of the Haitian Studies Association, LeGrace Gupton Benson presided over a 2016 conference focused on the environment. Subsequently, she has been working with an architect and a photographer to co-author a book about co-authors on a book about the Citadelle Henry World Monument in Haiti. The book is scheduled to be published soon. Benson’s research on Haiti and theatre takes her to the British Library in London annually, except during pandemic times. Each year, Benson has published articles and given presentations at scholarly conferences, including recent conferences via Zoom. Her next book is in the works. Benson is also involved in serving as a co-chair of the Working Group on Environment. The goal of this organization is to support environmental efforts by several outstanding Haitian Scientists, agronomists, and educators. Grateful for her good health and supportive family, Benson feels lucky to continue being involved in these projects.
