Planning for the Future

In 2022 Meredith College partnered with FreeWill – a secure, online estate planning resource. It takes as little as 20 minutes to protect the things that matter most to you and it is free. Alumnae who have already used the tool found it easy to use and are glad they learned that Meredith offers this self-guided platform. The website walks you through the will-writing process and allows you to include an optional legacy donation to support Meredith College.

FreeWill is a special benefit Meredith provides for alumnae of all ages – from younger alumnae who are starting families and building careers to those entering into their post-career adventures. All information provided to create the will is strictly confidential. No information is shared with Meredith unless the alumna chooses to share that the College is named in the will.

Alumnae may also take advantage of other tools offered on the platform including beneficiary designations for non-probate assets (retirement plans, life insurance, HSA accounts), advance healthcare directives, and financial power of attorney.

“The FreeWill process was so simple,” said Taylor Twine, ’13. “I am at a point in my life and career where I wanted to make sure that the things that mattered to me were officially recorded somewhere and am grateful Meredith provided this resource. It only took me about 30 minutes to document my information to ensure I could leave a lasting impact on the future of Meredith, other people, and organizations that are close to my heart.”
